Is your Herbert Pemberton a son of John Pemberton (b1856 Wallasey) and Mary Whittle (b1850 Liverpool)? They also had children Thomas, Edward, Mary Ellen, Samuel, Margaret, Elizabeth and Harold. Edward owned donkeys and gave rides on New Brighton beach - taking it over from his grandmother. Harold Pemberton was a greengrocer and fish seller. I am descended from Mary Ellen (b1879) who married Henry Jackson Cooper.
