Information from David Alan Jones and Gary DeBeaubien. John Wilton is supposed to have gone to Oxford University, but left to join the British Army, supposdly serving in India from 1853 to 1857 (dates perhaps too early).
Nicole Santini gives parents as John Wilton (1814-76) and Emma Keen (1806-52)
Incorrect John Wilton christened 22/10/1837, St. Nicholas, Brighton, Sussex, parents John and Mary Ann Wilton (John Wilton married Mary Stevens in Hove in 1828). This John Wilton married Fanny Sinnock at St. Nicholas, Brighton, in 1857.
Also incorrect John Wilton from Broadway, West Ham, born Stratford, aged 14 on 1851 Census. In 1871 the same John Wilton was at the same address, married to Julia with three children.
US Naturalization Petition for John Wilton from England at Belvidere, Illinois, 1869, is not the correct John Wilton.

Information from Gary DeBeaubien, this is definitely the right John Wilton. Probably died in Judsonia, White County, Arkansas.

John married Mary Emeline Stewart on 15 Feb 1877 in Tennessee USA.87 (Mary Emeline Stewart was born in Oct 1858 in Sweetwater Tennessee USA 87 and died in 1925 in Inglewood California USA 87.)
Marriage Notes:
May have married in Arkansas, not Tennessee. Had four daughters: Lallou (16/3/1879-5/5/1954 - married David M Scoggin, great-grandmother of David Alan Jones); Daisy (1884-1930) - believed to have never married ; Noreen Moore (11/5/1891-19/6/1978) - born Shelby, Tennessee, married Van F Pruitt,; Florence (27/12/1893-16/4/1956), born Augusta, Arkansas,.married Frederick Stanley Hatten (1913) and George Beaubien (1923).
Mary was listed as being married 19 years on 1900 US Census, but this may relate to the length of her marriage to John, Lallou was then 21 and married herself.
On FamilySearch Lallou Wilton Scoggins (Lou) is listed as birth date 16/3/1880, death 5/5/1954, place of death White County, Arkansas.
Emiline Wilton was born in Louisville, Kentucky, 1878, parents John and Mary Wilton. She's not listed in Ancestry, but may have died young.
